Hate that I like Dain because I know he's probably going to mess up and have Xaden be the love interest (well duh, he got so many paragraphs about his good looks).
Had a few moments of cringe and also the weakling FMC is not my jam but I'm invested now! Hope to learn more of the historical rebellion, and I love that every chapter starts with book excerpts because she trained to be a scribe so it's adding to the theme

I am absolutely devastated, my heart is ripping.
He actually cares more for everyone around him and they never know it! The only reason he killed Fletcher is because he was viciously beating his family?? And Warner constantly meets the citizens to know how they do?? He's an absolute angel I want to cry he doesn't deserve any of the hate, he's doing everything he can!!

I said I would have given anything to know what was going on in Warner's mine and I got it all!

It was funny at first, reading how he saw the situation with Juliette and thought "hey, he's delulu like all of us".
But then it got very dark, very fast.
We encounter his history, and his relationship with his father, how much of a tragic life he had, and how his obsession and love to Juliette grew.

The banter and tension, as well as the guilt and yearning is written perfectly and really tore my heart seeing the back and forth of the two characters, shifting from avoidance to giving in. The romance is the main point in this book it seems since the plot and journey itself isn't that captivating so far for me (besides the Reid part!)

Binge read 25% in less than 2 hours because I was hooked. The banter with Gavin immediately sold me (and his cocky character in general) as well as the FMC that matched his level of sass and was funny and easygoing. The tension between them was palatable and i gulped down every interaction. The team at the start was adorable and I hope I'll see more of them again! The PLOT TWIST that I should've seen but didnt

I don't like it so far,the writing isn't engaging and feels like a patchwork of dialogues with no actual depth to them. Would have DNF if it wasnt an ARC read, but the synopsis said there's dark forbidden romance later on, and feminine rage, so I hope to see more of that soon. Many time skips that just felt off, there was an attempt to seem like with the dean having a secret agenda but really wasnt suspenseful at all
