I get wrapping up a book series but there is too much swapping between characters. Too many flashbacks and flash-forwards.

A parent being disappointed that his daughter "ruined her future" because she rode on the back of a celebrity's car. Her boyfriend might not want to marry her. Am I reading this correctly?

Tanya feels like a caricature of Black women. Also she doesn't sound like a good friend.

This book is giving me whiplash between the alternating perspectives.

Also this relationship escalated quickly.

I’m noticing a lot of little editing mistakes. Is Sam blond or dark-haired? Yarn in stand of yard. Etc.

I’m all throwing obstacles in the lead characters way but when they start acting really stupid. It’s annoying.

I hate Sloane already.

This fool is crazy and I almost felt bad for him.

This book is struggling to capture my attention.

I don’t like the multiple points of view. It just seems so unnecessary- Wrath, Beth, The Cop, Mr. X, The Scientist. I guess it causing tension but why so many?

Predictable

Part two- Vashti is getting on my nerves

Enjoying it so far.

Oh Geez can Vail be any stupider.

So much truth in this paragraph.

Trying not to cry. This is heartbreaking.

"She was suddenly looking at the crowd with new eyes, realizing that it was entirely white and mostly adult. 0f course Maine has a very small minority population, but somehow she had never realized that fact. How had she lived in this town for several decades without realizing this?"

The answer is white privilege, that's how.

This book should come with a trigger warning. I was not prepare to read about racists. It's hitting too close to home.

This book is so fascinating but I'm taking points off for it being a trilogy with cliffhangers. I appreciate that Ella is not waiting to be recused by Kayden and she knows her faults. I like this this story has a mystery with it. Their relationship is believable and steamy.
