Dysfunctional. Toxic. Insane. These are the words that this book brings to mind. I have never disliked a character as much as I dislike Heathcliff and Catherine.

I have SO many thoughts. His work is like eating the sweetest chocolate cake, and savoring it in small bites is essential! Two of my favorite thoughts, among a multitude I can’t write here for lack of space;

“Faith is the antiseptic of the soul”

“The universe has one complete lover and that is the greatest poet” is God not the greatest poet?

I really love his poem Eidolons. It’s a deep reflection of “where you treasure is, there will your heart be also”.

These words struck me “How few are there wise enough to know when he answers them”. That’s something I struggle with at times. Hearing what God wants to say to me. Already enjoying this classic.

It’s not as interesting as any of the other Dickens novels I’ve read
