i’d been feeling bad for phillip, the way he had been treated as a child, the not so subtle mention of his (alleged) learning disability and the mentions of his crimes, never going into details and often alluding to them all being petty crimes. after chapter 12 any ounce of pity has left my body. i now understand why the people of isle madame hated him so deeply.

i have never gone through a book this fast. it’s so easy to digest, everything flows so well. this is why i love non fiction
