I understand it’s not a very long book, but gosh are things moving quickly and not getting explored enough for me. It feels like it’s written like “X did this and Y did this and then Z did this” which I’m not much of a fan of. I’m having a hard time diving deeply into the book as of now

I do like how our protagonist is flawed. I like how that speaks to how susceptible children are to hatred and how easily influenced they can be even when they don’t necessarily want to be.

Ending just seems to be going through the motions. There are some twists and tragedies, but for me they don’t land that well in tens of shock value, though they are entertaining. What’s supposed to be the climax drags a bit and then abruptly ends.

Got so lost in this today. Now that I have 90% of the characters memorized, when they add new ones it’s not entirely overwhelming. I’m actually loving the two storylines. It’s an interesting choice for a book, but I’m actually not mad at it. I hope at one point they collide though.

A lot going on. Just the smallest bit of trouble keeping it all together. I hope that the two storylines come together nicely. Not sure how I feel about the [to me at least] random romance between Jack and Tavia, but sure why not

Interesting story so far with what seems to be an antagonist I can root for, which of course always makes things more fun. My only gripe so far is the introduction of so many characters. I’m barely keeping up with who is who.

As exciting as this is getting I always have to call out plot armor especially when it’s that bad. Books survives the attack bc these random people showed up? Come on now. We could’ve come up with something better than that. Small complaint though. This is amazing
