This was a very pleasant and short read. I learned a lot about a gift society and how questionable our current one is. I dont know if my previous progress comment went through but this really is just a call to action. I wish we lived in a world that was pleasant and not run by greedy corporations

I’ve reread the first few chapters so damn much i’m exhausted by it. I of course mean i’ve reread them over several years. It’s a good book with funny jokes and pokes fun at the world and how we think it works. The characters all have that british charm. Miserable but fast witted.

Basically calling into question how our society is built on questionable economics that don’t make sense. It’s basically a call to action. A call to live in a gift society instead of a society ruled by greed. Of course, they’re not an economist, but honestly why the hell do we live with so much greed? Ugh i blame white men.

I think this is beautiful. It makes me so sad and angry at the state of our world and how we live. So much is lost and so little is going to be left. How are we not angrier? How are we able to continue living as if we are not on fire? Catch me later this month tryna read 1984. Check this shit out * flips skateboard tech deck*

I’m not sure what i expected but it wasnt a guy making a deal with the devil. The writing is kinda eh? I might drop this because of it. It reads like a high school kid writing this.

They’re inexperienced in expeditions, full of secrets and miscommunication. I appreciate the fact the characters aren’t entirely perfect. There’s a good balance of humor and seriousness. I’m also glad it never pisses me off.

It’s a good book. I resonate with a lot of the things said in here about childhood and shit. It’s raising a mirror to my face and making me reconsider a lot of things in my life and how I act. It’s not comprehensive, but it’s a damn good start.

Well fuck. Insightful and painful all at the same time. Still waiting for that one trick that undoes all the trauma.

Everybody’s stalking someone in this book. So far enjoying how different the two characters are and how they’re not always happy with each other.

Not to fall into the pitfalls of what men think of women, but damn straight! Women should always have their way.

Just two gals with secrets and traumas crossing several countries in search of a mythical beetle. Got me hooked from the start. It does not shy from death. Main character definitely has anxiety and a touch of the tism. I relate.

I absolutely adore this book. The romance is in the back burner but the chemistry between the two mc is wonderfully witty and playful. I also love how the mc is so focused on her research of the fae. It’s just so pleasant to read. I also have a newfound fear of fairies. I would have finished the book today if i didn’t have a headache hellbent on destroying my will to exist.

Learned a lot about how many parts of the human body are used and studied after death. Also learned that maggots look like rice and sound like krispies when clustered.

Now it’s picking up. I loved the three short fae stories and the world building. Who knew a setting in which fae are studied scientifically was what I needed. Here’s hoping the series doesn’t drop the ball

Honestly loving the setting and depiction of fae. It certainly helps to have a dashing jerk as a possible love interest hehehe.

Today I learned that anatomists of the past paid people to dig up dead bodies. Not only that, but it wasn’t illegal to dig them up so the court basically charged them for stealing the stuff on the bodies since there was no law at the time against it.
