I’m sobbing. This past chapter touched me deeply. “But, today, even though I am sad, my hands are still on the rope, even if I’m not pulling back.” Such an important message to remember. See the work you are doing, not what you can’t. I can’t find the strength to stand today, but I will find a way. I, too, have made it too far.

The more I read this book the more in understand the accolades on its cover.

Restarting this one bc I did not annotate it & I regret it. I came to this book originally on the precipice of swearing off love. Be it self romantic or friendship I felt like I just didn’t care anymore. Clearly my mind changed after reading half of this book #matt #friends. I want to relive those emotions and write them down so I can reminisce sometime in the future when I’m missing these days.

Book is good so far…I had some trouble sticking with it because of the beginning story. The themes of alcoholism paired with a pathetic poet were physically painful to read about. I think that’s the point though. I’m not far enough into the book to say for sure but I guess I’ll find out!

Re-reading this book bc I took too much time in between and forgot what was happening. Also a book I would read again. The stories are engaging and, living in Ohio, it’s interesting to read about stories from where I’m at.
