some questions i have rn, i wanna see if they will be answered later or am i just bugged. “the choice to enlist may simply reflect the lack of alternatives” i know i am extremely privileged but is there truly a case where there is zero alternatives to enlisting? eg. case of saving up for college. maybe just work other entry level jobs? may take longer but the result would be similar or take a loan idk

some thoughts on libertarianis

i feel like maybe my level of acceptance is pretty high after reading this chapter, or maybe i have some pretty libertarian views. i feel as long as one is not affecting/imposing on others’ rights and freedoms, it is ok to do whatever they want? like the selling kidney and consensual cannibalism examples. maybe i’m cold blooded but i don’t see anything wrong in that 🥴

There is nothing wrong with the love of Beauty. But Beauty — unless she is wed to something more meaningful— is always superficial.

When you’re worried about something, have you tried thinking in a different language? (…) It slows you down. Keeps your thoughts from running wild. A good discipline in any circumstances.

If we attempt to order events too meticulously, to arrive at point X via a logical trail, it follows that the logical trial can be picked up at point X and followed back to us. Reason is always apparent to a discerning eye. But luck? It’s invisible, erratic, angelic. What could possibly be better, from our point of view, than allowing Bunny to choose the circumstances of his own death?

I remember thinking that I would never be a kid again, not really, which was the first time I can recall that intense longing for the you to whom you can never return to. Sarah Dessen once wrote that home is “not a place, but a moment”. Home is a teddy bear, but only a certain teddy bear at a certain time.

even though i hate jacob grimes, this line is good without his condescension tho

Stop barrelling toward the end point, start lingering in the process. There’s so much that will reveal itself to you if you just pause and have a look around. Smell the roses! 🥀
