Finished another story about a YouTuber and devoted fan! Short and sweet. Was predictable I guess but l enjoyed its format and its neatness. Cool.

Ive just finished the first/main story Managing.
I’d give it 4 1/2 stars I think. Once i got used to the writing style it was just constantly intriguing with a great atmosphere. Felt like a drawn out fight with divergent parts of yourself, overcoming the awful shit talking parts of your brain. Great ending.

Very glad I finished this. Last book finished in Easter hols. Really enjoyed how all the strands were woven into a satisfying and happy ending in a way which didn’t seem unrealistic within the world of this book. No torture porn ,which I had concerns about in the final chapters, either.
Maybe simplistic in the way all baddies get there just desserts, but it felt good so hey!

64%done. Only have 1 or 2 days left to read it. Really gripping and I don’t feel there are too many characters as I heard someone say. A good mix of supernatural and real history.

47% complete. Still v engaged and liking characters much more.

About 32% reading on library app smaller pages.

Getting back into it. Good read.

Im still enjoying it but the biggest let down/alarm bells when on pg 105 we are introduced to what I’m calling the Not Caroline Character! Disappointing for sure. I always felt there were similarities between NBC Hannibal and Killing Eve, now reading the source material reminds me of the differences between that and Thomas Harris’ books.
Hoping I won’t get too annoyed with Not Caroline and finish soon!

Im surprised how much I’ve remembered from my previous listen years ago. Very engaging main character voice and cool magical system i look forward to reading the next ones.
Reminded me slightly of the Bryant and May books.

This is the longest story in the book so im glad it’s already intriguing. So many little hints that things are a bit wrong. The first person angle isn’t my favourite so took me a couple pages to adjust but I’m finding it works now. It’s very direct.

Can’t put down… except obvs I have to. Great premise and execution.

Read this years ago but wasn’t sure about if so trying again.

This book has drawn me in but is also quite annoying. Before I was even halfway through it seemed about to finish and has done same thing many more times since. Feel kind of cheated if characters they get you to care about turn out to not exist. Nearly at the end now so will see it through. So far not enjoying as much as Sundial.

Very engaging. So far am enjoying the setting and the small group of characters. Page 152 of 182. Digital copy on BorrowBox.
