Such an impressive book! It’s easy to see why it was nominated for both Nebula and Hugo. The adventure of Cirocco Jones is high fantasy and BDO sci-fi wrapped up neatly. It is full of exploration and worldbuilding, with interesting and charismatic characters. The writing is modern, with endearing scifi fan service. I can’t say much without spoiling. Sensitive themes warning, but mild for the time it was written.

Muito bom, leve e divertido. Fiquei surpreso com o estilo quase Andy Weier ou talvez Iain Banks. Agradável, com boas surpresas (não muitas mas boas) e personagens divertidos. Li em uma tarde e acho que foi a leitura mais rápida e divertida desde Alerta Vermelho da Martha Wells. Minha lista do ano tem vários livros densos e foi ótimo ter esse para variar.

An impressive book: very well written. The worldbuilding works and the characters (specially at the Moira thread) are very interesting. Having finished the story I missed a propper ending (the cut to the second was a bit abrupt). It uses two character POVs and alternate between then. The storyline with the God-King is the less interesting, however it is also the one with the more interesting revelations.

This one I will have to start over... Moving to my list of 2026 books.

Ok, eu sei que ja estava grande demais a lista... mas não pude deixar de acrescentar um dos mais estranhos do PKD. Ainda mais na tradução do excepcional Braulio Tavares. Páginas voam nesse aqui.

O Problema dos Três Corpos para mim tem um dos melhores e mais interessantes inícios que li recentemente. Mas é só o inicio, o livro é... médio, sendo bondoso. Nessa sequencia estou tendo o problema oposto.
Talvez porque tanta gente já me deu spoiler desse livro, estou achando o inicio lento. A recém chegamos no Projeto Barreiras (Wallfacers)...

Não começou promissor e acho que vai para o fim da fila...

ealmente surpreso com o ótimo worldbuilding e bom ritmo. A história, ao menos para mim, parece que é mais forte quando acompanhamos a Moira e perde um pouco o ritmo nos capítulos palacianos. Ainda tenho 4/5 do livro pela frente, no entanto.
