Soap opera told from a questionable point of view.

Wry and rueful emersion into the minutia of everyday existence, the book offers (to me at least), moments of real hilarity as the author details not only the exacting moments of discovery in his life, but emphasizes them with footnotes as if he was a subject of his own enigmatic science.

Bordwell casts a wide scope on his overview of films and there is much to entice the reader to find out more.

Wow, this is a mammoth graphic offering. What an accomplishment of epic proportions! I have barely scratched the opening of this fantastic story, and I am overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the book.
It's a great period of history to write about as so much of what is transpiring politically today can certainly be traced back to Weimar leadership and social change.

Dense and fascinating- a magnum opus of graphic dimensions.

The story "Rear Window", is considered a short novel by the author, but is really a long story. It sizzles with expectation, and the main character's limited ability to see the big picture and to physically move about adds a real claustrophobic atmosphere to the text.

Saw the ply originally on Broadway and was reassured of its substance with a return reading.

The last chapters are beautifully written an a vernacular but all the more clear none the less.
This is one of the great unsung noir novels of the Twentieth Century.

HA ha ha ... laugh-out-loud great reading- I am embarrassing myself in every Starbucks where I sit and read this one because I laugh with silly abandon at Nersesian great little book.

How much better life must have been for jealous drunks before emails and texts and mobile phones, before all this electronica and the traces it leaves.

This action novel is pure plot driven by broadly-drawn characters in a comic book world. It reads fast- the author is careful to never use a word or literary pattern that slows down the movie-like pace of the narrative.
I was not very satisfied- the story doesn't stick with me.
It feels like a great paperback choice to accompany one on a tiresome flight somewhere.
