I knew there was some weird bullshit going on with Lucia. Just the concept of her is heartbreaking, but now? I don't even know everything and it's Sad
I'm getting Very Worried about the climax of this story. I've only got 60 pages to go and things are just getting more and more complicated. Makes me concerned about Just How Much is gonna go bad in the last pages

Oh my god, poor Florin. Love that Carl thought hed be able to convince Anybody to leave the floor. Seriously Carl, I love you but you're a damn hypocrite.
Queen Imogen is absolutely terrifying and I am So Curious about the whole plan to take her down. Love that Tina's involved somehow
Very curious about Britney as well, she's so timid for someone to survive to the sixth floor

I am now in possession of Platform Decay, and no matter how desperately I want to read it, I told myself id reread the whole series first.
So here I am, reading book 7 of murderbot at the same time as book 5 of DCC. I'm just glad that tho they're both sci fi, they're pretty much as different of books as you can get.

I am Very concerned about all of these benefactor boxes aimed towards Donut. What with Ferdinand showing up, I feel like something about Queen Imogen is aimed at her specifically and the sponsors all know it. Maybe the queens gonna try to transform her further? Is that what the scolopendra potion is for?
Also, Bautista and Katia is adorable and hilarious. Love that Bautista was concerned about jealous Carl

"Maybe I could feel something more than friendship for Lark Thompson." Man, you're supposed to be the guy that has the Hardest time even making friends, nevermind committing to a romantic relationship. And this girl that you've known for what? Two days? Does it for you?

Also, sidenote, but I hate when people in books refer to each other by their full name. Real people don't do that. It's just a pet peeve

As a DnD and also One Piece lover, I deeply enjoy all the massive tone shifts in this series.

Going from the reveal that the dungeon kidnapped and turned one of Donuts loves into the villain of the next arc Directly Into the reveal of the dinosaur that is also a ballerina and wearing a tutu and tiara is just. So good

Poor Miriam, just wanted to protect her babies. God, Prepotente is so utterly heartbroken. That whole scene made me cry. I love that she trusted only Carl to understand how she felt, because she saw that bond between him and Donut
I'm getting Real Worried about Carl and that ring. It's going to blow up in his face, I'm just not sure how or when. Every time he mentions it, I go 'uhoh'

Why on earth is this man gardening in slacks and suspenders? Does he have other clothes?
Tbh I feel like this could've been so much stronger as a story if it was just about a friendship between a woman steeped in grief and a man used to death. The chemistry is just not there

I really like the Popov brothers, kinda concerned about the whole 'extra life if they get killed' thing. Worried it's gonna blow up in their faces
Donuts fight with Lucia??? Incredible. Knew my girl had it in her.
It's really painful that Carl has such a group of people now that he considers family. Except to get it, the world had to end

Dear god, Carls whole stint at the Con was fantastic. Loved him going absolutely nuts on that talk show. I'm enjoying Zevs more interactions with the team, still thinking that she might be thrown into the dungeon

HOLT SHIT DONUT KILLED ONE OF LUCIAS DOGS. DONUT IS INCREDIBLE, YOU GO. and Samantha being held captive by Vrah is hilarious

First impression. Callums alright, Larks annoying (scared of a mortician? Why?), and while the author obviously did some research on embalming, I can tell you with certainty that a body 12 days dead is going to be much more unpleasant to deal with. His PPE for anything would not just be relegated to gloves and a face shield, dear god
I feel like I'm gonna be focusing a lot on the 'mortician' parts of this story

Sometimes you gotta read books that you know you're not gonna like, in order to understand how to write books that you Will enjoy. This is that book for me

Dear god, Carls really going full murder hobo on these hunters. I mean, good for him, they came here to 'most dangerous game' some slaves for entertainment, but like. Carl, pull it back, you're scaring donut.
I'm trying to think about whos gonna be the Country boss (!!!!!) princess Imogen, because Odette warned that she'd be related to them. It can't be Bea or Carls mother, so I'm very concerned who

Holy shit that confrontation with Bea? I almost wish she'd been more lucid to really understand what was happening. Poor Donut, at least she has Carl now. Her new person
But also, what do you Mean the Valtay own the show now??????

Oh my god, I love Miriam, she's so sweet. Kinda weird, but Carl spends his days playing with bombs and talking to his cat, so I'm not sure he has anything to say about it.
I'm concerned about Katia, she's a lot more serious recently

The gangs all together! Enjoyed the individual arcs that the main three had while at the lake and still think that the world building is super interesting. All of the different bear afterlives and their ceremony surrounding the solstice is fascinating. Also got more fights this time around and man, they're brutal. I've been considering reccing these books to Lillian because I loved them but damn.

Okay, okay wait. You're telling me that murderbot is trapped in its literal worst nightmare, the thing that it's been terrified of happening since before it was rogue. And the first thing that it decides to do once it can is try to help someone??????
