Very much enjoying these perspectives of retired monster hunter, half-demon grandma, and nearly 100yo lactose intolerant wizard. Current favorite pov is temple tho I'm afraid he's not gonna make it to the end of the book. Finally got the gist of what's going on in the italics at the beginning of chapters and very intrigued

A very good retelling, with enough lead up to feel vindicated with reveals and also enough surprising to keep you turning pages. Loved the venom digoxin/atropine coming full circle. Probably my fave t. Kingfisher so far

I'm very much enjoying the medical world building of this story. Healer Anja and her snake venom narcan and cobbled together digoxin is extremely compelling. Also when she said 'i don't believe in magic' I could hear chekovs gun getting loaded

Very much enjoyed that. Cool climax, fun mystery, had the feeling of getting better on reread with a knowledge of what the answers are. I think ana is Haza or distantly related. Loved Ana and Dins relationship, very fun and unique. The fact that Din still thought that he was hiding his dyslexia from the Best Detective? Hilarious. Looking forward to the next one

Does ana know the hazas? IS ana a haza??? Also loved din killing a bunch of people and ana being all 'oh god are you alright' but din not being able to accept that she might actually just be worried about him. Duo of all time

Getting real big pacific rim vibes here. Tho calling the monsters Titans and having 3 walls is also giving me heavy attack on Titan flashbacks. Loving how quickly the plot is chugging along and the world building gets even more interesting as we move. I Love Ana and I can't wait until she and Din get a little more comfortable with each other. Din deserves to beat the shit out of his old CO while ana cheers

First chapter down and very intrigued. the plant/organic based magic system seems very intriguing and unique. I like the pov character and his grappling with the new but not often recognized status he holds. and im Very excited to meet the sherlock to his watson

Damn I was Not expecting that twist. But it was pretty satisfying to have the seatbelt thing come back. I knew from the moment that vera started talking about the "nothing matters"ness of it all, that shed have a "nothing matters therefore everything matters" turnaround but knowing it was coming didn't make it any less significant. Very good book, my favorite of the tinglers so far. The vibes were consistently great

They're called plot holes. Fucking Plot Holes. I love you chuck tingle. Also, loving the fact that all his horror novels are connected somehow. The mention of the Kingdom of the Pines cult from camp Damascus and Harold Brothers from bury your gays. Very fun touch. Lastly, man I love a narrative foil

I always said that Dr.tingle can do fantastic first chapter and this holds up and more. Those first two chaps are Brutal and I love it. Excited to hear more about this low probability event

Very cute but my opinion from before remains. A little boring. Best when there's some kind of external conflict going on because any interpersonal stuff is solved within a page. Vibes were nice. Constantly switching past and present tense was weird

Very cute and I'm having fun. Magic system is interesting and I like the characters. They're very healthy...perhaps a bit too healthy. Seems like nothing is a conflict between them for very long. But otherwise it's fun. I'm liking the larger cast of characters

just met izkierka and absolutely loving this bratty, bloodthirsty little firebreather. temeraire really beefing with a 2 day old. it in genuinely tragic how much they lost on their way back home from china. just loss after loss. looking forward to when they get home, if only because then at least they can finally rest

got past 2/3 and very glad they made it out of turkey. the death of digby and that egg was absolutely tragic. debating whether or not i think tharkays gonna come back this book or later, because i know he comes back at some point. loving how laurence is slowly warming up to temeraires revolutionary ideas. cant wait for granby to finally get his fire breathing dragon

At part 2 and very excited to see what's happening in Turkey to make them not give up the eggs. Obviously they Want dragon eggs, everyone does, but the fact that the dude said "surely you know" makes me think that turkeys got some agreement with France or possibly somethings going on in England that makes going to war with them seem easy. Also tharkay is an enigma and I love him

Hell yeah fragment. That's a cool land cuttlefish. But also really loved the dynamic between the characters. Ingold was fantastic and him and Denton were great together. Loved Easton going "not my business" every time they saw the two of them canoodling. Again, very funny that Denton felt the need to hide his male lover from his NB soldier friend. I feel like I should've expected thunder to be evil but oh well

You know, of all of my theories, mine-dwelling human-intelligence shape-shifting cuttlefish, was not at the top of the list. Loving the vibes tho. And I was kinda right! That pearl cave is alive

Loving temeraires new "unionize dragons" mindset that he's dragging Laurence into. Very excited to meet this tenzing that I've heard so much about from the fandom

A very fun book. Felt a little bit like a smaller plot got turned into a big one for the purpose of getting the boys to China, but not in a bad way. Loved the new characters and the absolutely fantastic world building of how China treats its dragons. Still wary of Riley. Wild that Laurence is now technically in line for the throne of fucking China. Good for him

Were finally in China and tbh I'm liking how these folk treat their dragons a lot better than the british. lbr, we knew that indentured servitude of dragons in the military wasnt the best, and i love that temeraire is making that realization and dragging laurence along with him. very much wondering who tried to kill laurence. still dont trust hammond, feel like hes gonna let them take temeraire for the right price

About halfway through and fully not understanding what people were saying about it being slowly paced. Is it taking a while to get to China? Yeah. But a lot of things are happening on the way. I do Not trust Hammond and I'm no longer the biggest fan of Riley. Mans a generational slave owner and seemed to have forgotten that Laurence is the one that Got him his promotion. Loving Laurence and temeraire as always
