Impressions so far:
Very insta-love, little foundation for attraction beyond the physical. There's a lot of smiling.
The writing isn't horrible, but there are some considerable errors and repetitive lines as if someone took out some lines or added new ones without checking to see if it fits or makes any sense whatsoever.
The characters, Sadie and Hudson, are thus far very one dimensional. Hockey makes up every inter

Okay so I can't be the only one who thinks that Killian kidnapped Saela and had Meryn's mother's killed? No one else knows about the Nabbers/missing kids even though the Prince himself knew! Egith, the siphon Meryn killed, common-born Rawbonds from other fiefdoms didn't know! Anassa hasn't trusted him from the start and neither do I. Also, who proposes to a girl 30 seconds after her mother dies??

At this stage, Theo is unforgivable and I hope Nina doesn't ever fully welcome him back into her life.

Honestly, if this keeps up, it's a 5 star read and I'm so emotionally enthusiastic about it while also fearing for this book.

Why on earth are Mara's chapters inundated with ()? Once or twice is fine, but there's been two chapters for her and they don't stop. It's different from previous books. It's irritating me.

But why? Why is Beth dead? Who killed Beth?

3.5/5 so far, I'm enjoying the premise and the way the story is unfolding. I'm also really enjoying the "then" and "now" chapters. It's also got some surprisingly charming wit, like the one-line chapter following the discussion of one-line chapters, which gave me a laugh.
