Start looked promising but the character didn’t really grow or develop. A lot of read flags on both sides. Many stories and background mentioned that doesn’t grow into anything (at least in this book). Slow paced. Neither character nor plot driven.

I havent read the first book with Mason’s (MMC’s big brother), if there exists one so i dont understand the situation with their cattle or what happened to their youngest brother or Mason’s wife and daughter.
So far im lost as to what the actual plot is.

Olivia’s mother is a piece of work! I was irritated with almost everything she said to Olivia or what she recalled her mother saying. Camille on the other hand is hilarious and fun and a loyal friend. Olivia and Stefan’s chemistry is good but nothing out of the ordinary. So far i dont know what he does exactly or his legitimate business and the whole Iakov situation is hazy to me.
