The bond between two sisters is truly beautiful. The guilt they carried, sacrifices they made, the love they had for one another. Truly beautiful. My favorite chapter so far. This book has me sobbing fml

Anything to do with dementia or Alzheimer's always hits really fucking hard. But that was a beautiful chapter. Shingo and his wife reuniting (she waited for him 😭) the dance, the book, the peace he felt remembering her promise. I'm not okay rn

Poppy is SUCH A BADASS
And I may be a little in love with Hawke oopsies

I was right. Immediately crying. The concept of grief and loss and guilt is something that can be hard to understand until you are forced to understand it. And regret when it is too late is such a hard thing to stomach. Can make you numb to the loss until you are able to process it. This was a beautiful description of complicated grief and regret. I can't. I'm a mess.
