This story of Crenshaw high school in LA made me consider my high school experience compared to others. At the school in the book, "a honor student is somebody who attends class, isn't disruptive, tries to learn..." (Corwin 3). This is vastly different from my high school, where the high achievers spend lots of time and effort to get good grades, showing the difference between my experience and the characters'.
