i might have a problem…reading grind on the bus to my research lab is working a little too well and now i can’t find the motivation to read when i’m not sitting in a moving vehicle. any advice?

i must say, more people should be reading books on buses; i have been shockingly productive on my bus rides to my research lab in terms of my book grind.

does anyone else feel like nonfiction is way more of a slog than fiction? im trying to read a 280-smth page history book rn and i feel like im moving at a way slower pace compared to when i read smth fictional that’s about that length…maybe it’s the extra effort you have to put into following the “narrative” idk

why do i lwk struggle to read nonfiction sometimes, like im trying to read more history things but they take so much longer to get through than fiction. i guess it helps that there’s more of a narrative to follow in fiction?
