The plants have gotten worse and more aggressive. They are deadly to all humans, except Petra, Anaya, and Seth. The teens have realized that they have special abilities and characteristics that animals have. So, they tell Dr. Weber and she examines them and tells them, "If Colonel Pearson learns you're cryptogen hybrids, he may only see you as enemies"(201). I think that the kids might turn fully into animals.

Bloom is about three teens: Seth, Anaya, and Petra. They get caught in a rainstorm that rains mysterious seeds. These seeds grow killer plants like deadly water lilies, pit plants, and black grass. “Maybe it was the unpleasant scraping sound, or the big face like flowers, but Anaya had never felt so keenly that the grass had an intelligence”(Oppel 68). I think that the plants are going to get worse and take over.

Acker and Brynn traveled to land and Brynn's powers were activated by the ground. After that they had to travel to the military base where Acker's army is. Acker and Brynn are slowly falling in love and they are bonding over their similar powers. An example of this is, "I felt your magic and I knew it matched with mine"(279). I think that they are going to have similar powers and possibly fall in love.

Metal Slinger is about a girl named Brynn who lives on a small isolated island. She is traveling on a ship and arrives at the marketplace. They take a prisoner, Acker, who can channel his powers through soil. Brynn helps him escape and they are sailing away together. Acker teaches Brynn how to use her powers, "I call the blade into my outstretched hand. It zips the short distance into my palm" (Schneider 144).

Even though the cavern life is safe, Eliza has started to plan her escape. Meanwhile, there are many other threats outside of the cavern. These glowing creatures called bioluminescents are bloodthirsty and waiting for Eliza and her friends to come to them. "If we don't keep moving, we're caught. And if we're caught, we're dead"(199). I think that Eliza is going to find a way out, but not without trouble first.

This book is about a 16 year old girl named Eliza, who falls down a sinkhole. This sinkhole leads her to an underground cavern, where she stumbles upon a human civilization. But little does she know of the caves unnatural animals and bugs and the many dangers to come. "The breath leaves my lungs at the sight of the biggest spider I've ever seen"(Ward 95). I think that Eliza is going to find a way out of the cavern.

Catherine has fallen into a forbidden love with Jest. In doing so, she has given up on her dream of opening a bakery. She goes on the journey with Jest and Hatta to get to Chess, the land where they are from. However, on the way there tragedy strikes and something horrible happens to Jest. Cath turns cold and becomes the queen of hearts we know today. "Off with his head"(449).

After many failed loan proposals Cath finally gave up on her bakery dreams. However, Catherine has a much bigger conflict on her hands. She has fallen deeply in love with Jest but the king has taken an interest in her and he proposed to her." Cath lifted her chin and, for the first time, dared to imagine herself a queen"(336). I think that Cath is going to accept the king's proposal, and leave Jest heartbroken.

Heartless is a story that takes place in Alice in Wonderland . Jest, the court jester, has fallen into a forbidden love with Lady Catherine Pinkerton. Catherine has a dream of going against her parents wishes for her to be queen and opening up a bakery. I think that her parents are going to shut down her dream. " I wish you luck, Catherine, but I fear this day has reached its limit on impossible things"( Meyer, 258).
