The Kill Order by James Dashner is the first prequal of the Maze Runner series and explains how the sun flares came to be. The book begins by explaining Mark and his friends situation. They get attacked by mysterious people and they do not know why. "What does anyone want with our little nothing of a village?" (33). I predict that they will show how WICKED first started.

This book is still so good. Thomas and the Gladers continue to
struggle crossing the Scorch, they are hungry, tired, and still face the Cranks. They get attacked by Cranks and lose some Gladers. Teresa betrays Thomas and the others. "He had once considered Teresa his best friend... now all he felt was anger". They find out WICKED is still watching them and testing them. I think they will get caught again by them.

I have really enjoyed this book so far! It has kept me on my toes. After they escape the maze from the first book, The Maze Runner, they are captured once again by the WICKED facility. They find a way to escape and find themselves in a sun scorched land where they face zombie-like creatures called Cranks. "All those crazy people out there-the Cranks. How do they deal with them?" I think that Theresa will betray them.

I really like this book, I can tell its already one of my favorites! Lots has happened in this chunk. After Thomas survives a night in the maze, the sun disappeared, supplies stopped arriving, and the doors didn't close. "The Doors. They didn't close tonight" (239). I predict that Thomas will escape the maze but nobody else will so he is the "winner" of the experiment. Can't wait to see how this book ends!

I am really enjoying the Maze Runner so far. Right off the bat it was exciting. I think Thomas will become Keeper of the Runners. He is brave. "Almost consumed by grief, he made a decision. He'd go down fighting". The story is based on a boy Thomas who suddenly has to shift to his new, scary life. He is scared at first, but quickly adapts and becomes strong. Although, strange things happen now that he's there.

I'm understanding the characters better now that I am farther in. Cady still doesn't know anything about her accident and even her best friends still won't tell her anything. She is struggling with headaches. "You have no idea what it feels like to have headaches like this. No idea. It hurts" (Lockhart 129). It hasn't picked up much yet. I think that her memories will come back and she'll be shocked at the accident.

So far, We Were Liars is a good book! It is a little hard to keep track of all the characters, though. The main girl Cadence got in an accident and cannot remember anything about it. "It is true, I have no memory of my accident. I don't remember what happened before or after" (Lockhart, 50). I think her friends know what happened and won't tell her. This book is very interesting!
