A wonderful, wonderful book for folks that have lost a pet and are grieving.

Linda is starting A Drinking Life
I don't usually read biographies or memoirs, but the title caught my eye! I like to hear the 'dirt', the ups and downs that happen while someone is actively drinking. This book did not have that. It starts in his childhood and goes thru his life. I thought the childhood part was good, but once I got about 1/2 way thru, when he starts to enter adulthood, I started to lose interest. I skimmed the rest of the pages.

Linda is starting The Burning Girls
I got about 1/2 way thru this book and finally gave up. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it didn't. I just couldn't get 'into ' it. So I skipped ahead and read the end and called it a day.

Linda is starting The Darkest Evening (Vera Stanhope, #9)
Although this is currently the last book in the series, it is the first one I've read. Someone said the books were as good as the show so I had to explore for myself. I've seen every Vera episode and I must say, this book was as good as an episode! I've already got two more books to read from the series!

Someday I'll stop reading books because the review I read was 'thumbs up'. About 1/2 the time I say 'thumbs down' to the same book! And this is one of them. I don't like the way it's written, there are too many characters inhabiting bodies with other names, and the story just didn't make much sense to me. So after 100 pages I stopped. Life is too short to read books I don't like.
