7 story archetypes: This book is a quest. I know this because Percy and Annabeth are trying to reach the doors of death because they fell into tartarus, and they have to reach the doors. On the regular side, Jason, Hazel, Leo, Nico, and Frank are trying to make it to the other side of the doors to save Percy and Annabeth.

Summary: The main character in my book is Thomas. The book is about kids who have to find a cure for a disease that turns people bad. The book's setting is in a world called the scorch. The events take place when the character blows up the facility. They blow it up because the cure is in the place. The story is a chronological narrative.

Visualize: When I'm reading, I visualize where the setting is. One example of a setting is on page 287 where it says, "I found them in the maze." What I would picture from a maze is, a big and old puzzle that has lots of moss, and there are secret traps to try and escape. When a character named Chuck got shot and killed, I felt very sad. I then had a very weird gut feeling after reading that,

Making connections: I am making a connection book to the world. The world and the book both have bad people and a disorganized government. The bad people in our world have committed crimes, and the bad people in the book are people with a disease that make them act like terrible people. Our government doesn't always make a good choice, and their government is against the people trying to find the cure for the people.

Characterization: The character that I selected was Minho. Minho feels very angry because his best friend Newt, became crazy and they had to leave him behind. Minho does a lot of running because he was a runner and he enjoys it. He says very crazy planes because he always likes to take risks. The character thinks that he always gets misheard and not listened to.

Antagonist: The antagonist in is book is WICKED. WICKED is an organization that runs tests on humans to find a cure for a disease, they are evil because they run the test that will kill most of the people. WICKED is trying to catch Thomas and his friends because they escaped the test. I know this because on page 97 it says, "WICKED killed Chuck, how could you do that to a kid like that."

Static vs. Dynamic: Thomas is a dynamic character who was very shy, not confident, and very curious. I know this because on page 35 it says, "Thomas backed away when they called him up." This shows that he backed down and was scared. Now he is the leader of his group coming up with an escape plan to try to escape from WICKED.

Conflict: The conflict in my story is character vs character. I believe this because Thomas is in a fight with a girl he could trust named Teresa. He is still making up his mind to trust her or not because she was fighting him.

Prediction: I will predict that Thomas will lead his group to the end of the scorch trials. I think this because on page 177 it says, "Thomas, you have to get us out of here, lead us to heaven to cure us." I think this foreshadows that the whole book is about Thomas leading his group out of the scorch trials.

Point of View: The point of view in my book is 3rd person omniscient. I know this because on page 33 it says, "Thomas felt a headache forming behind his eyes." The reason why this is the point of view, is because the narrator knows his feelings because it says a headache is forming.

Protagonist: The story is mainly focused on Thomas who is a brave teenager, who is dedicated to getting him and his friends home. On page 133 it says, "Thomas approached the old scary man bravely." He loves to be very modest and he got brainwashed and he can speak to a girl telepathically.

The setting in my book takes place in the scorch trials. The scorch trials are the trials that the creators set up for the gladers to make it through to survive. In the scorch trials it is very hot, on page 91 it says, "the sun would give you a second degree sun burn if we step outside." Once the sun sets they could finally move outside the hallway.

Thomas is leading his friends back to the real world. All of the grievers are chasing them to try and stop them from getting through the portal to get back. Once they got through the portal Chuck sacrificed his life to save Thomas's life

The main character is a boy named Thomas. He is finding a way to finish a puzzle to set the people free from the world. He is feeling conflict because somebody burned the code to set them free.
