It's starting to feel more like alt-right wing propaganda disguised as a cheap and generic ghost story than it is like an actual story. This might be my last straw with this book. I don't need to read more brain dead, alt right BS just to get a bad and boring ghost story. The writing is very amateur, but at least that made it an easy read and I haven't wasted too much time on it.

Oh, this is FUN.

This may be a terrible idea, considering how much I hated Heir of Fire, but I'm gonna give it a shot.

Oh my gosh, I love this SO MUCH.

This book is a nightmare. Not what I expected as a previously-decent author's third published work. Not only is the writing eyeroll-worthy in so many areas, but there's no plot to speak of. Unless you count that flimsy thing that is only addressed 4 or 5 times briefly before it ties back in with the overall series story line. Ugh. Because why shouldn't a third book in a series be all filler?

It's unique and different, but there's more of an emphasis on description and atmosphere than building the mystery and romance. Not normally my thing. Also, the main character is kind of a train wreck. Almost put the book down because she's just so inconsistent.

Okay so... some things are different. I might be enjoying it a little. Just a little.

This is literally Twilight with a boy main character. I don't know why I was expecting this to be interesting.

Slowly but surely... Pretty lackluster for an adult follow-up/finale to a great series.

Audio version, and I absolutely love it so far!

I love the writing and that everything is so unpredictable. This book... you can't get complacent while you're reading it because in two pages, everything alters dramatically. The second half of this book so far is way better than the first.

My favorite parts are the parts with the Darkling. So far, I've only enjoyed about five pages total. Blech.

Ugh, I can't stand Mal. He's so overdramatic. He's like one of those annoying girls who always makes a big deal out of nothing. Please tell me Nikolai or the Darkling is endgame for Alina.
