Pretty good read/listen.
Slow and paced with actually 2 timelines and storys

Wow. The last few Chapters really turned the story around .

Misty eyed and my misgivings of the KR writing has been shelved.
Hopeful for the remainder of the story.

I hope the author has talent and ideas besides churning out a re-skinned version of the woe-is-me schtick used repeatedly in the 3 Rivers books!

Midway chapter 7... well, if I'm stopping midway a chapter to write this, it's either very, very good or in the verge of irritating the **** out of me.

How old is Sam anyway? She is acting like a horny 18 year old over and over and over again repeatedly... it's 27% into the book for goodness sake

Ch 29.
The historical western setting and prevailing views of the inhabitants are deliciously written to tightly pull at the 2 FMC each with their own secrets and past and future they want for themselves.

You know the story and narration must be good when you have that feeling of concern for the characters deep in the pit of your belly.

60% to go and here's hoping it stays at the level established so far.

End of Ch 8.
You are one of a kind.
Indeed.

A fall off in standards especially post time skip.
Just have to get through to completion.

Chapter 5.
Spectacular introduction into the writing of Milena McKay.

Back into the world of the The Villains, Lee Winter is spinning a very interesting tale.

Wonderful so far.

Chapter 5.
Deliberately unhurried setup letting us learn the various MCs and side characters.
Certainly no Insta-lust.
Incredible narration by Angela Dawe.

Ch 41.
Childhood friends evolving.
Inevitable, gentle, beautiful.

That's not how EPOA or Enduring Guardianship works when the donor is still lucid/mentally competent.

Chapter 7.
Ch 6. What a wholly unpleasant person with no redeeming qualities. She must be paying millions to her PAs and at least her VW can be fully rebuilt and cancer solved for the world

Amazing writing and plot.
So much 2nd hand embarrassment !
Torturous invested in FMC and her son and the hostile small town!

It's one of those books you how stays at it's level to the end . 🤞

Chapter 3 now.
Hmmm... Instant Lust out of boredom? Where's the connection or personality or what's their relationship besides hookup buddies ?

Still it is early days in the book and the previous Georgia Beers book I read was good. I sure hope this one doesn't disappoint.

Chapter 7.

Wonderfully written with cast of Tea Ladies and associates set, in what I assume was the developments, changes , challenges in Australia in that year.

And the dynamics between the Tea Ladies are so interesting / lovely / frustrating !

Well... 17% and not a single redeeming quality of the MMC in sight . Who wants an extremely valuable car spot in exchange for a dinner that he invites himself for a holiday with the control freak entitled Mom .
No evidence of the purported big hearted romance what so ever and complete power imbalance.
Typically I'll DNF such unlikeable characters and manipulative stories.
Let's see if I regret continuing.

A very well written Chapter 1 setting up both MMC and FMC backstory , priority and first conflict. Promising!

Ahhh. Just finished the Ch 17. The avg rating is starting to make sense now.

It's been a really good read up to Chapter 9.

This is very good and under promoted .
The 2 leads both have their hang-ups but the setup is quite clearly established and understandable.

Wow... 50% mark... I didn't see this twist coming!

5 chapters of self pity, setting the scene before the book started going

Is this just a D/s story? The FMC instalust and sub tendencies seem to point that way.

Ch12. I certainly didn't expect this storyline or the development!

Ooooh Garet! I didn't see that coming!

This is well written but tough listening for me, emotionally.
I'll probably have to switch to the Kindle version and speed read through the tough sections
