I put this book down for a moment to read other books. Not a reflection on how good or bad a book this is, though -- it's more a reflection on how terrible of a reader I am. I'm still enjoying it, and I hope to finish it soon.

Probably the most human-like non-human characters I've ever read about. Hoping to finish this one today

I started reading this because the title and the set-up was just too intriguing. I like the author voice, for sure, but it isn't a fabulous book. I don't think I was expecting it to be, though. I began to read it out of intrigue and now I can't seem to put it down for how wild it is. Not sure if I'll end up rating this one since I feel like I'm more along for the ride vs actually reading if that makes sense.

Kind of meh, but not meh enough to stop reading just yet. Might end up being 3/5 if it doesn't pick up soon. I also saw a review when I added this to my GR that it's more like domestic cannibalism which I've found I don't really care for. That, and it's pretty meh domestic cannibalism - like are you *really* telling me that they don't eat anything else but people? They don't enjoy a good steak every once in a while?

Been working through this one. Really enjoying how the story is building up & will probably end up being 4-5 stars

Gotta update real quick because of the extremely insane line: "Do you not remember digging the graves?"

Looking like a 4/5, dragging start but beautifully described action as it gets a bit more intense. Definitely will finish tonight

Checked out this book this morning & read a few pages. Woah! Loving it so far & looking forward to picking it up after I finish a few other reads

Most likely going to end up a 5 star read. Kind of hard to get into with the 2nd person, but once I got past that, I was invested!
