Read "Animal Farm" long time ago and still have a strong impression on it, and so far (only a couple of chapters in) "1984" has proven to be irresistable and full of thoughts. I feel like me right now is of an adaquate phrase in life, more and better equipped with my own formed brain, to start reading and dreading.

Fine. This looks interesting. Even though I got spoilt somewhat, I'm still curious.

So I just found out that my book edition includes all of the extensive footnotes which is almost 60% of the book itself!
That's quite convenient when I can jump back and forth between my reading and footnote extension :D

Okay, last update on this excitement. My googled phrase was: "young adult novel about a girl in a space circus".

After so many attempt with: young adult, girl, circus, space, aliens, etc. This showed Galax-Arena's Wikipedia page! 😭

19% and it's only been 5 chapters of the 10-chapter book. Guess the rest will be real heavy-weight.

I get that it only consists of Chompsky's talks and discussions from the 80s to the 90s. But I can't help wonder, what it will be like if this also includes his reflections and connections from and in the 2000s and 2010s. Because our world has been spinning at the exact same spot.

...After a lot of googling, finally, not from Reddit or Quora, its Wikipedia page popped up. I read through the whole plot and it was as Anne-Marie's description! Moreso, one of the covers on Goodreads evokes this sense of familiarity! Finally, found it!

I've started reading and even in the first few pages, it's tight. But I'll leave it for now and come back when my memory of the plot fades a bit more :) So happy!

Goodness, I've been looking for this book for the past few years!

This was part of my English class' compulsory reading for the semester back in secondary school. Somehow, I was able to dodge reading it altogether. It was sold to a 2nd hand bookstore at the end of that school year. But I remember my close friend Anne-Marie raving about it... a year or two later. She read a lot. But it still slipped through my mind.

It's just sooo much description! Older literature style too. Although some descriptions are scrumptious such as when Thomas arrived and stayed at the Count's castle, it takes time to get there. And it will take even more to get to another part like that... I dread.

I really looked forward to reading it after watching Nosferatu 2024. It showed potential at first too. But now: crying emoji for whenever I'll resume.

This is a heavy read with a lot of thinking, reflection, highlighting and noting.
