saw a video of the author talking about how she wanted to write something with a jane austen-style heroine plus magic and swordplay and fantasy… and THEN that she wrote all three novels and revised the whole series together before publishing them all at the same time… yeah girl i am seated. i am here for whatever you have to say🪑😌🎧📖

started reading this on my phone tonight after dinner while john was doing some work and i fear these white woman thrillers kind of do have drugs in them (positive)

this is about to ruin my month (positive)

wow i was really drawn in by the worldbuilding and magic system and the friend group we started with……………but this main character makes unfathomably awful decisions. its getting extremely painful

book club……. idk about this one folks

book club for stp this month and i was like “oh i’ll just skim to go back over the main plot” 5 minutes in i am just fully rereading, barely three months after finishing it the first time. god this book !!!

first time doing a book club where you meet in the middle AND at the end of the book and i love it!!! i love getting to hear people's thoughts halfway through!! i love hearing little things to look for and symbols i didn't pick up and knowing that Javier Bardem plays florentino in the movie! so much more richness :')

when i had listened to 15 minutes of this book i knew it was going to floor me and yes. i was right. i am on the floor
