october book club with @Meg 👯‍♀️🔪 so excited about this bc i AM the aforementioned weenie reading horror wikipedia summaries!!! 🥲 john and i watched Widow’s Bay this fall (huge progress for me) and i had 3 nights of nightmares afterward AND PEOPLE KEEP SAYING THAT SHOW ISN’T THAT SCARY (but it is so so good and also hilarious but still SCARY TO ME)

was thinking of this so much when reading the everlasting (mwah) and then another friend started readjng it so here i am!! sinking right in to this reread fr

you know it’s serious when i slow down my normal listening speed because i have to TAKE IN EVERY DETAIL

ordered this gorgeouuuus UK cover from blackwells as soon as it was announced and now finally i have the chance to devour this… katherine arden my beloved!!! i loooove her character work and how she does perspectives. what a treat for me this week

found this on Libby while looking for the original, then found a podcast episode with the author and his daughter for the 100th year anniversary of the novel’s publishing. it was a great introduction to his style (and enthusiasm!!) and i’m really enjoying listening to these lectures, alternating with the chapters of ulysses they cover!

a few lines at the end of “odyssey” where stephen fry describes ulysses were SO compelling that now i am here. and we shall see if i prevail!

rockies book club may read - describing the MMC as having “epic scruff. rawr” on page 11 in a book published in 2021 is sending me into orbit lmao

going back to this before i get too far ahead in the Troy audiobook compared to where i am in the Iliad 😀
