Thor Cossette is finished with A Psalm for the Wild-Built (Monk & Robot, #1)
At the end of the book, it seems like Dex is not enjoying being in the wilderness, which is confusing because earlier in the book, Dex was loving being outside with Mosscap. I feel bad for Dex because no matter how hard they try, Dex never feels like they have found their true calling. I thought Dex would have found their true calling, but it seems we will never know.

I feel like Dex is starting to find their calling in life because it seems like they are enjoying the outdoors with Mosscap. I brought up a theory in class that the crickets stop chirping when Dex finds their calling. I think this theory is correct because s Dex has not heard the crickets in a while and enjoys their life more than ever.

During class, we were trying to figure out whether Mosscap has feelings or not. In class, I said Mosscap has no emotions because on pages 69 and 74, instead of saying Mosscap felt amused or was offended, it always said looked offended and amused. This shows that Mosscap lacks emotions but can still portray them. Mosscap fakes his emotions by studying Dex's real emotions and copies them to make it look like his own.

Dex's job as a tea monk is only to satisfy the needs of others. However, their conversation with Mosscap helps them realize that they have been working to fulfill others' expectations, not what they truly want. This encourages them to work towards a more authentic life. The message that the author wants to convey is the importance of pursuing a career that brings one joy rather than one that builds a reputation.

Going back to my point I made in class. I think the title of the book is leading to Dex's calling as a person. Dex was a garden monk and is now a tea monk, so I think they are changing their profession to try to find their calling in life and what they are meant to do. I think the crickets represent Dex's adventurous trait, and the sound won't stop until Dex finds their calling.

Dex, a garden monk, leaves the City to search for a more meaningful life. Dex focuses on serving others rather than power and wealth. Dex goes out of their way to comfort others, showing empathy. Similarly, the Transition preserves half of Penga for humans and half for countless species, reflecting the author’s care for nonhuman life.

I am shocked at how fast things went downhill for Changez. I also feel bad for him once again because everything happened so quickly. Erica killing herself and getting fired from his job at Underwood Samson must have taken a big toll on his mental health. Overall I enjoyed this book and the material it had but it skipped around things too much for my liking. I feel like Changez never got to live the American Dream.

I feel bad for Changez because he got fired at Underwood Samson and his relationship with Erica is basically gone. If I were Changez I would be struggling a lot mentally because of all of the bad things that are happening and the lack of positives. I do think his relationship with Erica slowly fading away is a good thing for Changez so he does not have to keep thinking about her and trying to win her over.

I feel bad for Changez because he really likes Erica but she is still thinking about Chris even though it has been a year after his death. Changez is starting to get frustrated with Erica because she is acting so stubborn and stuck on Chris. Changez get so frustrated in fact he wants to yell "HE'S DEAD" but he didn't. I feel Changez has a lot of respect for Erica many times he could've yelled at Erica but didn't.

I am worried about the relationship between Erica and Changez. Because it's his last Winter in the U.S. With Erica and is slowing staring to grow more distant with Erica and less people are acknowledging him. I wonder if Changez is ever going to talk to Erica again because it his last winter in the U.S. My prediction was wrong Changez and Erica are not drifting apart because of Ericas dad.

After reading to page 101 I see how Changez emotions are starting to change towards anger. Earlier in a previous class discussion I predicted that Erica would want to stay close to Changez but her dad wouldn't let her. I have not yet seen any evidence to prove this true but I think I will soon. So far I have see that Erica has been at times close to Changez but also distant as well.

After reading about Erica and her venting to Changes and getting drunk on wine, I felt like she is still not over her ex dying to cancer. I think this because after she got drunk she was touching and talking to Changes in an act to try to seduce him. Ithink this shows she is not over he ex because she does not act like this sober. Changes recognized she was drunk and was respectful and didn't take advantage of Erica.

I enjoyed reading about Changez success and how well he is doing at hids new job. However learning about the company's main belief is getting me a little frustrated, ignoring people and other factors. When he went to Erica's home, her dad's actions and words made me feel mad and frustrated. I felt this way because Erica's dad was discriminating against Changez because he is Pakistani.

These few pages I have felt a deep sense of confusion and I have re-read passages as the author constantly changes the setting arousing confusion. I however don't really enjoy how every situation is making me feel awkwardness, uncomfort and disgust. I feel this way because by the way the author is speaking makes me feel like I am in the book.

During the first 12 pages of the book Changez seems like a person who is very respectful to others. Even though he is showing respect to others I predict later in the book he will face discrimination because he's an immigrant. When he was talking to the tourist he did not let him say any words in the book. I think the author did this because immigrants in the U.S are treated unfairly and discriminated against.

After reading the whole book, I enjoyed reading about all of the crazy, weird and even freaky parts of the book. In the last 40ish pages of the book I had a mix of emotions. I felt very sad when all the glass breaking was the sound of uncle Frank killing himself. I also felt happy for David and his family moving because they got a fresh start. In the end I really enjoyed reading this book and would read it again.

While reading about the break in and the intruders I felt a sense of excitement while reading. Not because I wanted Davids mom to die but because it was thrilling to read about. Like I was talking about previously it was also cool to see the answer of why Davids mom picked up the shotgun. While reading I also welt scared because I really enjoyed reading the book and I didn't want it to end.

While reading I felt mad about how the family acted towards Uncle Frank. Wesley on his knees begging I remembered in the introduction this scene previously happened. This got me thinking about the other scenes in the introduction. I am looking forward to see what happens with Davids mom and why she has a shotgun.

In my previous responses I worried and felt bad about the situation David was in because Marie died. After reading further in the book I feel much less worried for David because he has matured as a person and has became more involved in the problem with Uncle frank. David also talks at the end of how frank was in the town in the time Marie died wich makes me suspicious of frank.

When reading I felt bad for David. During the book he is put in a very hard position because he sees his grandfather fighting with his father. And he doesn't know what to do. If I were david I would try to talk to my mom about everything. Doing this would make David feel more comfortable in his own house and not feel like he is walking on eggshells.

While reading The book I felt bad for david because what is going on in the book is very stressful to read let alone it be a reality. I am wondering and curious to find out how David handles his feelings. I also am worried for the dad because he is under a lot of stress from learning about what his brother did. Plus him admitting it is a lot to handle for anyone. I am curious what he will do in the future of the book

When reading up to page 43 I felt very uncomfortable and sad for multiple reasons. I felt uncomfortable because it was weird reading words like rape and fondle. I have never actually read those words before and it really was scary. I felt sad because I realized that this actually happens in todays world. Most of the time the people this happens to are too afraid to say anything and end up saying nothing at all.

After reading to page 29 I felt uncomfortable when the boy was describing his feelings for Marie. It was weird reading about when he saw Marie naked especially when he went in depth about what he saw. While reading I started to feel worried for Marie. She was very sick and needed 2 thick wool blankets for her to sweat the cold away. That worried me because whenever I get a fever I don't need that many blankets.

After reading to page 15 I felt bad for the kid because he didn't like where he lived and felt better and free when he left the town. When his mom was worried about him it reminded me of my mom. Because no matter how good or bad I am doing my mom is always worried. So in someway I feel connected to the boy. I feel connected to the boy because the town I live in is very boring so I try to leave whenever I can as well.
