Not been reading lately, but I've still been watching the TV show for this a bit, and Bourdain's writing reads the same way that he speaks. I can hear the voice in my head

I personally have never really enjoyed books with multiple perspectives, and it's not just being too absent-minded. Everytime the story starts picking up momenteum for one of the three different multiversal perspectives of the protagonist, the chapter ends and you come screeching to a halt to deal with one of the other perspectives. It's both jarring and annoying, worse so that the original one is most interesting.

I'm enjoying it but I'm not good at understanding the old-timey prose, I don't know who tf is talking half the time. Probably will finish it this week though, Silent Hill 2 is terrifying.

I do not like reading weekly releases but I can't wait until mid-May for the full publish. I was spoiled by reading 12 of these in like three months, AO3 fanfiction isn't enough to tide me over for eight months

Gonna save that other book for my 10 hour flight next week, I'll finish this by then..

Something I find very annoying is when a character spends a whole book working their way up through some kind of hierarchy in a job, school, etc, and finally reaching the top just to have to do it all over again somewhere else in the next book. Also characters losing their hand/arm. Lazy injury, pick something more interesting.

This is probably the best book I've ever read
