This is a cute The Shop Around the Corner/She Loves Me/You’ve Got Mail tale, but with undertakers and demigods. A fun read.

Really enjoying this so far. Lots of literary references, which I love. It has the same feeling as you’d find in Neil Gaiman, Susannah Clarke, and Alix Harrow.

Overall I enjoyed it, although the end felt a little forced and, again, all the assault felt gratuitous
(As did the obsession with *bewbs*). I’m not unhappy that I read it, but I don’t feel the need to revisit it or think it will live in my brain for a necessarily long time.

I disagree with many of the criticisms I’ve seen; I don’t have a problem with Follett’s pacing or characterization. But I don’t need quite so much graphic violence and assault to illustrate that one character is a generally bad guy… like, after a few pages, I get it.
