I’m not gunna lie, this book is very mellow and I’m kinda sloggin through it. It’s very cute and sweet but I’ve just been in a slump and this book isn’t helping pull me out and I’m sad cause I was looking forward to this book :/

I’m ngl, it’s tough listening to this audiobook after listening to a crap ton of negative stuff (current political state) already. While she is actually so lovely to learn about, by god, her childhood, how her nasty father and his friend constantly raped her, is really hard to listen too

Okay they just said 11 years older but still what a creeper. 33 and 22, I’m 27 and idk what I’d have in common with a 22 year old.

I’m not deep enough into this book to really rate it or whatever but Elena is an absolute creep on top of being a shitty person. If her and April met 6 years ago when she was 30 but 3 years ago started dating Daphne who was a college senior so what 21. She was 33 dating a 21 year old, wtf do you have in common, that’s a child 🤢

The audiobook, listening to her narration is fucking stellar. She’s fucking hilarious and I hate that she had to go through what Trump put her through

I’m 38% of the way in and I’m obsessed. This book is more than just about the dogs we have seen her adopt but the back story of how she started adopting, the confusion of her 20s, shitty boyfriends and her best friends. There’s a bit of time jumping within the chapters, for example the chapter says like summer of 2016 but then we are talking about Poutine (fostered 2024)
