I read a little bit more today. I’m not the biggest fan of this style of writing. I find myself a little lost sometimes and I’m not hooked completely yet. It is getting more interesting though, so I’ll give it a chance. After reading something like Shutter Island, this feels a bit bloated and slow so I’ve got to adjust back into this pacing.

Started reading this out of morbid curiosity. I know it’s controversial. It’s clear from the start Humbert is a sick individual. I did however have a sliver of empathy for him during the chapter about Annabel and his childhood. Ironically, he left me disgusted with his “nymphets” and obsessions in the chapter after. The book is interesting in a morbid way like when you watch a show about a serial killer.

Wow! What a great book. The movie is great, but the book is done a lot better. Hell of an ending, very heartbreaking. Honestly, probably the best book I've ever read.

The book is making me emphasized with Teddy a lot more. I really enjoy the deep dives into Teddy's mind that show what makes him tick. This is something the movie really didn't do that well. Lehane is killing it with the dream sequences and the intense moments. The dialogue in this book is so well done. Even though I know the twist, It's still a great read. I'm hoping to finish it soon, but I am a bit busy.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie adaption of this, but so far the book has done everything a bit better. Not a boring moment yet. Teddy seems more likeable in book so far than in the movie. Chuck's a bit better written as well. One of the most well written books I've read in a long time.

Really like the approach of how this story is being told. It's fast, but still descriptive and entertaining. I can feel the tension in some of these scenes and can feel Teddy's grief. I like how this mystery just keeps getting deeper and deeper and stringing us along. Really well written characters and so far not a single dull moment!

The prose is very well constructed and easy to read. It's kept my interest all the way through so far. This is a book I could see myself finishing in the day, but I'm trying to savor it as long as I can.

Prologue was interesting, but not sure where it was heading. Now into the first chapter and it's got me hooked.
