The reason why it is so hard for people to stick to their habit is becuase the brain is wired to focus on the present and not the future. To make it easier to focus on the future, make every time you do something that supports the future, give yourself a reward to make it feel like you are making progress. Eg. If u skip buying something, transfer the same amount to your chequing acc.
