I definitely can relate to parts of the shadow warrior and to burn out.

The warrior!! Very relatable, and also good points on how it’s necessary to keep the emotional detachment in check or it will lead to disaster.

The book so far has clearly defined some of the key terms of narcissistic tendencies and traits. I’ve benefited from listening to this as it helps to put into perspective what I’ve been through and past significant others have as well. One quote that I’ll butcher as I’m listening not reading is “it would be easier to love if there was a shared definition” I thought this was meaningful to hear.

The tyrant and the weakling. Both seem to be rooted in childhood trauma. One being never critiqued (the tyrant) and the other being overly critiqued and likely abused emotionally and physically. Our past really does have a big impact on our present. We all must do better for the next generation.

Wow, reading through the King archetype. Such good content and structured in a way to bright light to the importance of a healthy “king” and how if he isn’t what is within his kingdom will languish.

I can see this ebb and flow in my own “kingdom”.

I’ve enjoyed learning about the boy archetypes and reflecting on where they relate to my past. It’s interesting to read about how the hero has to meet their limitations to understand humility. Reading about getting the princess but then not knowing how to keep the princess, really makes sense. I’m excited to keep reading about the mature masculine archetypes.
