Been reading this book with pauses for a few months. It takes practice and ponderinf to truly grasp. I have reread a few places too and I am sure I will continue to do over the coming years. So far I feel this is the anti self help book of all self help books and thesimple language of it makes it accessible but not easier to practice. I am so grateful I found it when I did.

Is there a way to ade a book to your libthat is not uet on goodreads? Like a manual entering of the book title etc.?

I'm really enjoying this book, I feel like there is so much thought put into the main characters. Also, I like the fact that it is not a very fast book to read, I feel like savoring it and not just running through it, doesn't happen often.

Totally not liking it. I thought it would be a thriller, but it reminds me of the fifty shades of grey style of books. Not that I don't like those kind of books, but I just had different expectations for this one. Switching to other books for now :/

Just adding another funny quote: “At about seventeen he'd given up on expecting anything that resembled friendship with a woman. The only women he could ever claim to have had an honest-to-God conversation with were a former fifty-year-old coworker, and his friend Kim, whom he'd known since they were nine. He was guessing it wasn't a coincidence that Kim also happened to be a lesbian."

Another funny quote: “But Russ wasn't real. Russ was like her computer screen had just gotten really smart and was talking with her. Real, but not real at all.”

I don't usually stop in a book to make an update here, but this was so funny, so Iw anted to share it. “That was like an outlet, a hobby. Some women scuba dived, some women knitted. Kindra talked dirty to Russ.” Liking the funny thoughts and conversations here :)

"Despite the press of her fingers, he’d never felt more conscious of being alone." Loving this quote, but not an easy book at all, I must say.

Oh myyy... I was already expecting a new twist of the pace of how it was going, but I didn't expect this. It's so frustrating. I even forgot to walk my dog out so had to do it at night. It's almost 2 am now, but I know that I have to wake up tomorrow normally, but I want to finish this. This is so hard, I just love reading and living the stories so much. It's funny how characters grow on you and you can't ignore them

Oh God! I'm so proud of Emily and so shocked at the same time I can't believe it. I just want to continue reading and my hunger or other needs just don't come near this, I just want to know how it goes, how the characters live through such tragedies, where do they gain strength.

Loving how it's turning out, but a bit afraid, since I know how Barbara's writing is, I love it, really, but at the same time it's like some crime is building and I'm not sure how it's gonna reveal itself and it's scary, but I want to know too.

Loving this book, I find myself from time to time copying quotes. The latest one: “He was the key. Myra just knew it. She could feel it in her bones, along with the arthritis that kept reminding her of her age and frightened her no end, given all there was still to do” The irony made me chuckle, not so much in a funny way, but in a clever way the writing was put, I love that about books.
