I can’t really say I’m that invested in the story at this point. Felt myself starting to fall off right after the exam arc. I guess the only reason I’m still reading this is sunken cost fallacy.

The MC is really starting to grade on me. In the beginning sections I found him charming and a bit eccentric. Now he’s commenting on status hierarchies and privilege. Jason is starting to become an insufferable prick.
I also hate how some of the great supporting characters like Rufus, Farrah, and Gary are taking kind of a back seat in favor of the aristocrats he surrounds him self. Not a fan of courtier Jason.

I stared reading Jason with an Aussie accent. It makes this book so much funnier!

Some of the Australian-isms are getting to me. I am enjoying some of the snarky humor and starting to like Rufus and Gary.

The most interesting thing to happen was the court scene with the knights from the heroes guild. Arabella was kind of a badass. Though I get the feeling Kazimir started to take the back seat for a bit.
Kinda glad this book of almost over.

Kinda feel like the storyline is dragging. The focus is on this invented reason to avoid contact that’s just as much frustrating for the characters as it is for the reader. Although in my case the frustration is like can we please skip the smut and get back to the story please?

It’s weird because the Dark Lord is written like a comic book mustache twirling villain and the main girl is trying to girl boss. I think the thing that’s keeping me reading is the back and forth and the tension, but seriously he’s like a temu Xanden.

I’m starting to lose track of what’s going on. I really liked the circus arc, but this new one with the raining hookers is slowly losing me and then the orc drama with the skull guys on top of that? Drama!
