DNF at 26%. I tried to suspend reality to buy into the premise, but I just can’t. Listening on Libby and between the dual narration style, the female narrator sounding like she’s 70, and the “highly trained operatives” hitting on the trafficking victim right after they rescued her - nah.

Stars mainly for spice…

Finding this book hard to get into so far.

DNF @26%. I decided to give the second book in the series a chance, but I really shouldn’t have. The over-the-top male voices paired with her little girl-style voice acting, the repetitive writing, the icky tropes……it’s too much for me. I hope others find enjoyment in it, it just isn’t for me. Maybe - and it’s a big maybe - if I read instead of audio, it might be palatable.

Started off dark and promising. It’s gotten a wee bit…..nicer? Lighter, maybe. I had hoped I was in for a good, dark read that somehow didn’t set off my own triggers. Oddly, this feels too “safe.” Disappointed at 46% through.

It’s good but I need light books due to my work right now. Stuff I don’t have to fully listen to in order to stay engaged and not lost on the story. Pausing for now.

I can’t deal with the narrator and the story isn’t gripping me at all.

Still debating if I’m going to finish this audiobook or not. It’s oddly boring. The story has some promise, the fmc narrator is not great at men’s voices and I cringe when she tries. Take with a grain of salt: I may not be in the best place emotionally lately and DNF’d another book today because I just couldn’t get into it despite it being part of a series I’d loved.

Audiobook narrator is nasally and has pronounced a couple words oddly. Nothing all that interesting yet, I’ve actually fallen asleep a couple times trying to listen.

Amusing, yet touching in parts.

Had to suspend my rational brain in parts, but overall a decent dual narration audiobook. The story progresses quickly, with very little fluff. Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5.
