Secret Window, Secret Garden is simultaneously better and worse than The Dark Half (his other book about an author who creates a character that comes to kill his family). Better cause it's legitimately creepier to have the character be some sort of ghost that possesses his body. Worse because it's just another story that shows a plural character with an evil alter because "they're crazy".

This is mildly spoilery but I have a prediction. So spoilers for the end of the previous book.

At the end of the last book Sevro left Darrow to go back to his family and now he's operating alone with the howlers that chose to stay. But this happened in like book two or something too. They had a disagreement and Sevro left but then turned out to be following the whole time. I suspect that's happening again.
