it’s getting pretty good! yay

I’m enjoying the concept so far! love a stubborn and unfeminine female protagonist. some of the writing/editing decisions are a little strange, like the sentence structure takes me out of it for a bit. but that’s not a huge issue. I’m very interested in learning more abt this Greening guy. I’m always instantly obsessed with any svelte mysterious rogue-type boy. ugh

the country names being compass directions with “Middluns” in the middle is extremely funny. I like the premise, but the writing is a liiiittle juvenile. curious where it’ll go.

speed running psychosis by reading 100+ pages in a single evening. this book never really gives you a resolution, just a vague sense of deja vu and injustice. the grim satisfaction of some characters’ fates is always overpowered by inevitable disgust. it’s a rough one. still, it’s fucking incredible. the imagery is so so vivid, like a fever dream. there is no other book like this.

I can’t tell if there’s less awful and strange things happening, or if I’ve become desensitized to how many awful and strange things happen to this damn family.
