3rd edition, getting ready for another trip!

Delightful AF

Considering I'm reading this simultaneously...boat dad, at least notionally

Quite enjoying this so far which raises very important questions:

Am I to become a boat dad? Is this my fate?

ngl I decided to reread this solely because of how much I enjoyed the
Denis Villeneuve movie, pretty good so far

Figured I'd read this ahead of time and hopefully remember it when needed

Quite a fun read so far, if a bit predictable

comfort food in book form, still a pleasure seeing how the themes and cycles of the series evolve

Excellent and incredibly depressing

Reading again for the nth time, what can I say? It's comfort food to me

Some weeks you really just need comfort books, and this is mine

Just a couple chapters into the audio book, so far really enjoying it

Just finished Glory Road, a really excellent work. I think the way Catton describes everything going on around and contributing to the war is quite illuminating. He still paints an excellent picture of what's up with the troops and generals but the stories around it all are really great balance. A few of the battles themselves, Fredericksburg especially felt rather confusing, still exciting though. Overall great book

Just finished Mr. Lincolns Army, quite good although some pieces didn't totally land. Catton is not as sympathetic to the abolitionists as I think would be expected. At least it's pretty far from lost cause rubbish.

On the other hand I loved his portrayal of McClellan. I just wanted to reach back through time and like, shake him by the shoulders. All the battle descriptions were utterly riveting too.
