Joan of Arc referenced in the past. Sebastian sent Livia to negotiate that her demon Mars forfeit his claim to Joan.
-the shadow that came out of Joan appeared to be a large wolf.

Sebastian is telling the story of him and Antoine’s (Jacques dad) encounter with the beast.

-Sebastian thinks Jacque being a beast is his fault. There has to be something from the past that explains this
-Jacque has a childhood friend mistress
-Antoine now follow the Bishop’s every word. He use to be speculative of the bishop.

Plasma is the byproduct of a spiritual transformation. Which is a key component of the beast.

In Sebastian’s blackout after the fight he retreats into a “memory” of his youth. He is a child held in chains and is greeted by the Lion of Judah. He asks Sebastian his real name to release his chains and refers to Sebastian as a child of Cyprus. Sarmodel interferes the lion and claims that Sebastian is his. This deters the lion and warns Sebastian that his torment will grow if he refuses to redeem himself.

Back to the main story. Jacque turns into a werewolf when Sebastian goes hunting. Sebastian has to use Sarmodel’s demonic strength to defeat him. Before Jacque was destroyed he toyed with Sebastian teasing about how he knew of Sebastian and his Father, Antoine’s relationship.

The book takes a pause to send us 20 years back, when Sebastian first joined the first Red Winter hunt and meets Antoine. At the banquet hall it seems like the hunting dogs have gone mad, resulting in one ripping another’s throat out. I wonder if The Beast secretly had something to do with the provocation.

Sebastian heals Jacques throughout their journey. As Jacque rests, Sebastian accepts a contract from a long dead Roman soldier. Once his truth is revealed and completed Sarmodel devours the roman soldier’s fallen comrades Anima.

So far giving me Wednesday vibes. Sebastian has been 25 for many years who is joined spiritually with demon Sarmodel. He lives with a succubus named Livia and he is tasked to return somewhere to finish a contract he thought he completed. Because the Beast has somehow returned.

Iain was the black Knight. He and Harry finally embrace after 6 long years of war and politics. They foil Montagu and ruin his plans. Iain and Harry finally go back home to Darrington and reunite with family and live happily ever after.

As the french raids continue. The Galloway 12 have died by the Black Knights sword. Harry is near certain it is Iain. He gets set on a mission to Paris for negotiation and hopes to find the black knight

Harry joins the raids in france. There is a mercenary called the Black Knight. I think it’s Iain.

Harry still thinks of Iain. Distracting himself with campaigns of war. When he returns from scotland he has a daughter named Joan. When he visits his father in law he points to Harry that he is losing himself. But Harry doesnt care.

Iain presumed dead. Harry joins the crusade against scotland to distract himself. Alys now lives at his home in dartington. Within a year and a half alys is pregnant with Harry’s child.

Harry iain passionately reunite. Only to be assassinated by the French

Harry and Iain finally reunite. Iain hates royal court and desires to be with Harry.

Harry faces Iain, who is now the new silver knight, in Jousting and wins. When he is invited to the kings feast he sees Iain newly in majesty clothes. He aches to talk to him.

Iain and Harry have been broken up for a couple months. Iain in politics is making things difficult for Montagu.
-Harry is bewedded to Alys in christmas
-Her father paid off his debts and got his estate back on good track
-Harry missed Iain deeply

Iain is discovered to be the true king of France. He causes his aunt Isabella to faint. And King Edward addresses him as cousin. Iain dismisses Harry back to Darrington after their fight.

Harry and Iain attempt the spring tournament to try and raise money to build up their home again. Harry has a secret backup plan to marry Alys in order to gain fortune in matrimony but idk how that will plan out with Iain. I hope he doesn’t go through with that.

Rabbie burns down Harry’s home. Everyone is safe and Harry confides to Annie what happened. She said she’s always known by the way they look at each other.

Rabbie caught iain and harry having sex by his pond.

Harry tells Iain that he loves him.

Harry discovers that Iain is true heir to france. Born of the eldest born French Princess Marguerite in secret with a scottish lord.

“Theres nothing but wet ash inside him, whereas with Iain, there is wildfire.”-Harry

Harry admits to himself that he loves Iain.

Crocker threatens harry with the knowledge that he knows of him and Iain because of montagu’s spies. This is to force henry to start losing in the tournaments.

Harry and Iain go to the knight Tournament together with Iain as his squire despite them not being friendly right now. Iain is quickly noticed as an outsider to the other english squires.
