Sebastian and Antoine meet the ancient nymph Dayane to find a cure for his beast affliction. To heal him he agrees to a secret agreement with Dayane. The payment was for both of them to have sex with her which healed Antoine’s bite mark from the beast.

Antoine is inflicted with the werewolf’s bite. He himself is changing. To help stop this Sebastian seeks help in the french mountains of an ancient spirit who could help. In part of the offering he put a hanker-chief of antoine’s semen in the offering bowl to summon her which I thought was pretty amusing.

Sebastian and Jacques meet with the hedge witch in Saint Julian. She confesses to Sebastian that Jacques in a secret cult with her daughter Lorette that rebels against nobility; The very nobility that Jacques is in. She also reveals that Lady Dayane can’t help them because Sebastian “betrayed” her those 20 years ago. I wonder what that was.

Sebastian and Jacques finally return to the town and to find it in famine and desolation and poverty. They visit the hedge witch that sebastian met long ago to try to find help for Jacques’ werewolf condition.

Sebastian finally kisses Antoine after he was bitten by the beast. Will he turn into one too? Also the beast is the spirit of Mars/Avstamet/Ares which is an interesting take on the werewolf lore. He seems to remember sebastian from the past. They met once with the persecution of Joan of Arc

In 1766 while visiting a french mountain town they finally encounter the beast. Sebastian recognizes it as the demon Avstamet (god of glory, mars, ares) the same demon that harbored Joan of Arc in the 1400s.
-there is a witch forbidden to share knowledge
-Avstamet appears as a werewolf

“It sounds strange given how many people were dying but that summer was a dream”
Sebastian talking about his time with Antoine

Joan of Arc referenced in the past. Sebastian sent Livia to negotiate that her demon Mars forfeit his claim to Joan.
-the shadow that came out of Joan appeared to be a large wolf.

Sebastian is telling the story of him and Antoine’s (Jacques dad) encounter with the beast.

-Sebastian thinks Jacque being a beast is his fault. There has to be something from the past that explains this
-Jacque has a childhood friend mistress
-Antoine now follow the Bishop’s every word. He use to be speculative of the bishop.

Plasma is the byproduct of a spiritual transformation. Which is a key component of the beast.
