Alliances are being made…I’m so curious how this is going to wrap up

They’re all now very suspicious of each other…the fact that I’m expecting a twist is making every chapter more and more suspenseful

…the first verse of the poem literally describes the event plus how the first person dies….second verse of the poem….they’re all about to stay up late bc they’re scared…the entire poem is a foreshadow of the events in the book plus how they’ll die…i have no idea who’s behind all of this

Chapter 4 - so they’re all connected to a death or indirectly caused a death…how are they all connected?
I went back and noticed the names were spoken in alphabetical order based on last name when they were announced in chapter 3…Anthony is the first to die…will they be dying in alphabetical order based on first name

Finally getting to the mystery of it all….very interested in the poem’s role in the story moving forward…seems to be a reoccurring motif but what else about the poem is relevant to the rest of the story besides the amount of people and the fact that they die one by one…U.N Owen = UNKNOWN….so clever!! So who set them all up??? And why would they even show up if they didn’t personally know the host ???

I feel like there is so much foreshadowing happening and I feel like I need to read every sentence twice….theyre all on the island together now and getting dinner

The chapter ends with a hook and perhaps foreshadowing a religious theme that might be present throughout the book (judgement day)… I’m intrigued

It’s getting intense…. I want her to talk already!!!! I wonder how much of what is going on in his life will eventually come to mirror what had gone on in her life

Chapter 6-9 — I liked the first part of chapter 6 where the author talks about babies and how they are overwhelmed with their feelings are needs their mothers to regulate themselves and if they never learn from their mothers they become anxious adults. It makes me think how fragile life really is and how much our lives are shaped by our earliest experiences — ones we can’t even remember.

Part 2: Chapters 2-4

So far I like how short the chapters are. I liked how they refer to the nurse’s station as the goldfish bowl — the patients are really watching and observing them versus the other way around. Alicia attacking Theo — I do agree that it is her way of communicating; I have a guess now as to why — double suicide gone wrong?? But that seems out of character based on journal entries
