started reading this while i was lifting weights, and i had to stop every few paragraphs cuz the chapters about extinct animals make it so tough to not get enraged and emotional over, even though they're just snippets and not an extensive dive into the topic.

truly beautiful writing about the heartbreaking process of biodiversity loss and how it affects us, humans. i'm going to love this book, no doubt about that.

i'm reading this too slowly but wow, it's a freakin splendid book

read this after season two of the series but by 20% mark i was skimming everything :(((((((( i'm so so so sorry!! the problem is Me. dnf for now. might try again if i find a physical copy of it. but for now i think i'll just rewatch s1 and check out the script book.

I like it but it references to female characters in films most of whom & which I'm not exactly familiar with and it triggers my chronic fear of missing out. I might try again later, but goodbye for now.

had some actually funny anecdotes + i was interested w/ her insights/experience w/ mh problems i too have, but man even with my adhd (and her way of storytelling is very much like mine),, i don't like the inconsistency of liking one story and finding the next one tedious, disinteresting, or (i'm sorry to say this) annoying (tbh, maybe the taxidermy thing threw me off)

read this for the adhd representation but the characters are too young for my liking. it's seems like a love story more than anything and i'm just not that too keen on reading about 16 year olds falling in love lol it's cute, but i'm not finishing this. :(( just not in the mood for it right now :(

very similar to my previous read (the headmaster's list) so i hope this goes smoothly!!!! honestly what made me read this was a (vaguely spoilery) tweet about the end of book tree so here i am!!

oh man i'm really struggling through this one haha for some reason i just can't connect with the author and his writing style idk idk!! still interested in the general topic so we'll see

oh man i SOOO don't care about this white couple renting the house, plus the woman was pretty racist which i think is very much intentional, and hope it backfires at her or whatever but i'll still continue reading this out of intrigue

too actiony for my adhd brain to comprehend and keep up with the pace but i think i'd enjoy a film version of this. also, didn't care about the characters except the jake the dog. jumped to the last chapter when i decided to give up, and the ending was just okay. so yeah, respectfully, i'm dnf-ing this ~

thought it was gonna be sorta existential and all that with the doomsday theme, but there's so much monster action i could only enjoy on screen cuz i'm too impatient for all this when reading i just need to know what immediately happens and the result is me skimming all over the chapters and then me hating myself for doing that and me skimming even more cuz what's the point now and then me hating myself even more X_X

reading this along with the audiobook which was narrated so frustratingly slow i'm playing it on 3x speed

storywise, i'm just here for whatever interesting elements that were excluded in the film adaptation by m. night shyamalan

my brain's just not in the right place. i have to stop reading this before i start to hate it cuz i don't want to hate it. i know it's fun but my adhd brain just isn't interested atm and it really upsets me so much!!!!!!! so yeah, will just come back to this later when i hyperfixate on topics relating to the deep ocean

this is really compelling even if i still don't really fully grasp what's happening in the book haha

(i hate how i'm not reading this as quickly i feel i should be, only reading more or less a chapter in the past few days cuz i'm having a hard time focusing, and i've been beating myself up over it til i just realized maybe it's cause i'm not eating well + i'm fasting)
