Corinne is 10% done with Weaving Wild Baskets: Techniques and Projects Using Foraged Leaves, Grasses, Vines, and Bark
I’m a very grateful ambassador for Storey Publishing LLC! They sent me a free box of beautiful brand new nature hobby books, this lovely Weaving Wild Baskets being one of them. I’m very excited about this book since basket weaving is on my bucket list! When the Wisconsin winter lets up I look forward to foraging materials with my daughter to weave our first basket! The lovely book introduction has me motivated!

I found this thrifting recently and without knowing anything about it, I read the blurb and brought it home. I’m glad I did because I’m enjoying it a lot! I’m already thinking I’ll read more Helen Hoover books. On a whim she and her hubby left a comfortable Chicago life for a fixer-upper log home in the boonies of Minnesota. Her interactions with the critters are so sweet! Love her descriptions of nature.

What can I say, I’m enjoying young adult history lately. Homeschooling has sparked my interest in history. The settling of America is truly interesting. How difficult it must’ve been to travel cross country in a wagon train back then!

I recently added this to our homeschool library. (A history book for ages 10-15.) I couldn’t help picking it up and reading it, as I find the Mormons interesting, especially after watching American Primeval (a violent show about the 1857 Utah territory that shed light on Brigham Young and the plight of the Mormons). The book is an easy read but I do find it fascinating! Makes me want to read an adult version.

Wow!! This is one well written book! Don’t want to put it down! I see what all the hype around this book is about. It is unsettling, the plight of these men, yet one can’t resist reading on. I can’t help but imagine the worst of what lies ahead for them, as I’m only early in the story yet. I’m pretty sure this one will be ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
