It’s so melancholic and I can see that the Nastenka is kind of using the narrator and his nativity and his likes and I feel very sorry for him but for whatever reason I relate to him..

Very melancholic but interesting I kind of relate to the narrator.

Wow…it is just wow…We get to know the society and how basically everybody is just forced to be the same and that’s why firefighters are eliminating books..because they trigger thoughts and thoughts can make people unhappy and stuff and yeah..I also like Clarissa very much in this book.. His wife is just a perfect example of a human consumed by society and being oblivious to its flaws..

She was moved to another hospital. Her friend (ig)) Joan was there. She still wanted to kill herself. Joan also tried suicide. Esther still didn’t feel good she didn’t like visits and yeah well didn’t like her mother and birthday l.

Well, what can I say. She felt terrible and depressed. Esther was thinking of killing herself a lot ( by hanging herself, drowning etc.) and even attempted by overdose. But she survived and ended up in a psychiatric ward of a hospital. She didn’t look good people thought she was crazy. Also I didn’t really like her in the past chapter because she was racist and frankly just doing bad stuff purposely.

It’s starting to get really dark, Esther gets electro shocks and absolutely doesn’t like them. Her mother is also well, she judges people with mental illnesses. Esther started having suicidal thoughts and even cut herself. She decided to go to the Deer Island prison and went on a beach.

Esther has some serious psychological issues she couldn’t sleep, eat, read, didn’t shower or change her clothes. She went to Dr Gordon but he disappointed her. She also pretended to be Elly and wanted to go to Chicago and change her identity because she didn’t like the responsibility of her current life. Gordon told her to get electroshocks. And I guess she ran away now kinda…

Esther left New York and went home to Boston. She wasn’t accepted into a writing course for the summer school so she didn’t go at all. This chapter felt like her life was completely falling apart. Buddy fell in love with a nurse. She was stuck and didn’t know what to do, began writing a novel. There was so much which she thought she should do but absolutely didn’t want to. She got recommended a psychiatrist.

This chapter began with Hilda talking about how she was glad that the Rosenbergs were gonna die. Then Esther was taking her last photograph on the magazine while which she cried because she didn’t really know what she wanted to.Esther wanted to make Jay Cee proud. Then Doreen made Esther go out with her and her date became misogynistic Marco who almost raped her. In last scene Esther threw out her clothes.

Esther went to visit Buddy Williard a day after Christmas and he asked to marry her (at least want to). Buddy also wrote a poem which Esther didn’t like but didn’t want to hurt his feelings. She was again a feminist icon and said she never wanted to marry. He didn’t really like Esther for who she really was and was quite misogynistic. Then Buddy and Esther went skiing and she learnt to do it but broke her leg.

.Through this chapter l got to know Konstantin who looks like a chill guy again. Esther seems to like him and kind of wants to sleep with him. I can see that Esther is full of self doubt thinking of all the things she cannot do and of some of her mother’s expectations. We can see how unhappy she truly feels and has felt for most of her life. She had feminist ideas. She has thoughts of sex and chastity and etc. TLEO

It’s very interesting, I do not like the Buddy Williard, because he is completely two faced and his mother was an orthodox lady. I understood if he did it once as most people want to try it but I mean how could she have seduced him 30 times. He just plays this innocent boy who was seduced but I mean… He played that he was seduced and innocent but well he ofc liked it. He isn’t the right person for Esther.

Wow, Esther is sick and she is going on a meeting with Constantin. We get to know Buddy, who seems like a chill guy and Esther likes him but I have mixed feelings about him. He doesn’t like poetry.

Again, Esther is so relatable. The chemistry thing was so genius btw.

It’s quite interesting. I do nor know how to feel about the main character but I relate to her very much. Mostly with how she felt while Doreen danced with Lenny and how she just wanted to have fun but ended up being even more disappointed. I didn’t like how she just left her friend there alone with a random man, but it’s something that I would probably do too.
