The first chapter was great. It pulled me in. It got bland after Mallt was turned into a mortal. There was short monologues about how different and uncomfortable it was. And mention of a flood of emotion, but Mallt's internal thoughts don't reflect this at all. And in turn, I have no idea how she feels about Belis. Theres some good growth and a bit of tension, but overall its been hard to slog through it.
