Haven’t read a word of a book since lockdown, apart from finding an ebook copy of my beloved Anna Karenina, with my physical copy now abandoned in my office. Got this ebook in some wild sale early on in the pandemic & figured I’d try to use it to remember to read when I’m bored. TBD.

A fun romp for the most part. Though there are some awkward moments they’ve chosen to include where it literally says “there’s more to the story, but I can’t talk about it” which seems kind of... dumb, or poorly managed. Anyway.

Oral histories are weird. Oral histories in book form are weirder still.

Obviously quite dated at this point, but still an interesting peek at some stuff so far.

Dark & troubled. Quite the chaser for DFW (that is, more of the same).

Fascinating. Captivating. Terrifying.

I’m still not convinced by this prose. I don’t know if I love it, hate it, or if the style is just so unfamiliar that I cannot tell the difference.
