I watched Night Winds season one which they say is loosely based on this book. So far I like the book A LOT better. Where was the brother in the tv version? And don't get me started on how they ruined the characters!

He declared ily first, but she kinda had to wring it out of him. But she resists and is a woman of few words. They have been lovers since they hit the road. Now at 60% it's the first time i've heard him call her by her name and not 'girl'. Even though he's been asking her to be her wife, it's been condescending. He hasn't thought of her as 'piggirl' in his thoughts lately. Instead his thoughts call her peasant girl.

Saukendar seems like a decent man at first, but even years in exile, he still thinks like a privileged MAN. He assumes Taizu is a peasant girl and treats her as such. He assumes she's lying and when he is proved wrong, he doesn't apologize. He assumes she should warm his bed or go to a nunnery. When she does well he assumes it was from his teaching. I look forward to him eating crow.

Too stressful how emma always gets the shit end of the stick, even if people aren't intending her to. Her parents, her twin (that selfish cunt violet), the men who flock to her sister, longly and the duke. Duke realises but stll acts the emotional coward with ultimayely selfish interests. Emma lets them. I like her little sister and maid daisy.

I am just reading this for the mystery. Everyone gets on my nerves unfortunately

I love the writing style. I hate the new cover that looks like a 90s shampoo ad. Why couldn't they have kept those old school covers for this authors books... anyways. Gonna pause cause i need something faster paced today.

I wish the author didn't always give him the upper hand. He's a shitty person, even in his own thoughts. I assume the author is going to redeem him, but so far everytime he wins (even if only in her mind) it sticks in my craw. They are very alike in temperment and raising, but she is the better person by far.

I'm loving this book, but must remember to warn that a child dies by the hands of the mysterious villain at bout 3/4 through the story.
The h is kinda prickly for the first half because she's trying to deny her attraction to Raoul but also she is afraid of what his intentions are at first. Then there's also the disparity in their social circumstances.
But she is a remarkable woman for her time and Raoul sees it.

i should love this, but i keep setting it down and not feeling enthused to pick it up again.

Well i'm a quarter in and i hate everyone including the MCs. Especially Alex the prodigal or not. Whatever else he is, he's a fucking manipulative dick head. I hate the way he pokes at Caroline with sharp words like a bug pinned to a table. I just fricken hate him. Caroline's a pathetic doormat. The other 'family' are stereotypes of wealthy asswipes. So far I plan to never read this author again.

Heavy petting and oral but no sex yet. Almost no mention of her powers and the guys only think she has an anxiety condition. Bates is hanging around but so far only friendly.
If the author isn't going to do anything with the paranormal side of the story, i don't plan to read the nxt book.
I mean i wanted a slow and easy story but this one is like watching paint dry.

Very good, but also dark. The duke has grown up with treachery and doesn't trust easily. So he keeps her in the dark and she may fall into his uncle's hands in despair. I won't say the uncle is the enemy, it isn't that simple. Anyways, gonna take a break with something lighter ; )

I wish it was just one couple or the other. I hate when books dither between more than one romance. But the characters are compelling despite my dislike of mafia romances. If anyone can make me love a mafia romance it would be Lucy Monroe.

They still aren't 'together' but they both know that want to be. He goes to an award ceremony on NATIONAL TV with a beautiful date hanging all over his arm. Amanda was watching it on TV having no clue he'd do that.
She's pissed. He tells her 'Patty' is an athlete he took as a favour to his agent. He does NOT apologize for hurting Amanda's feelings, and actually gets mad at her for not replying to his texts!!!! GRRR

Finally started this one and loving the quiet read. It's one of those harlequins that is as much about traveling and describing the travels as it is about the quiet romance.
Sophie is a sweet young lady and Carlos is a sexy tall dark and enigmatic hero.
Does he recognize her as the girl he kissed way back when she was 17? I think so and I think he's been pulling strings to get her into his sphere of influence.

DNF ugh. Annoying heroine who was inconsistent throughout with too many tstl moments. An H who remained 2d. Why was he so besotted with her? And why did he used to help seamus? Was it for money or because his friend was seamus' brother?It made no sense. A long lost sister whose a b*tch but never gets any comeuppance. It was all just so annoying.

I have to say I am tempted to DNF this one. There's been almost no headway in the mystery. Veronica is not someone I would want as a friend, although I do love her independence. But she's kind of a know-it-all, beautiful but harsh. The H doesn't seem to be very bright, although he is mysterious.

Well this is one of BN's books with a nasty, sellfish unfeeling beautiful sister. Of course the sister gloms onto the wealthy doctor being nice to MJ. MJ isn't a doormat so much as she is undemanding. Still, i wish she, or anyone, would tell felicity what a tw*t she is.
I was tempted to dnf but the doctor's mother seems to like MJ and will hopefully play matchmaker. (And maybe run felicity over if i'm lucky!)

this is cute, but slow and a little repetitive in the inner thoughts.

I'm loving this, but i'm starting to think i should have waited to start it AFTER the next book comes out.

I want to like Mark... always had a soft spot for southern accents, but i don't trust him. In his own thoughts you hear him plan to deliberately seduce Karen knowing she was only in town for 4 days. He uses her grief as lubricant. He even puts on a condom under his jeans before he even asks her to dance! You get the impression that he does this a lot. I sure hope he can convince me she's special to him...

This is witches, like the 'Bedknob and Broomsticks' kind. Pretty corny. Weak world is building. But the MCs are promising. She's too much of a fool, but I found his actions and reactions believable.

I am so VERY disappointed in Julia. She's trying to paint herself the victim and Iis being quite selfish. Like it's his fault because he rescued her 'damsel in distressy' ass from her shithead parents. He has doen nothing but love and respect her while walking a knive's edge and all she can think about is herself. Grrrr
