The casual, party-style vibe of this basement “kill club” convention, paired with the passive-aggressive questions directed at the sole survivor of a trauma that wiped out her family, is absolutely bonkers….

Resuming reading after taking a break

I have started and restarted reading this as an audiobook multiple times. There are so many characters introduced at one time 😅🙈

“I love you, but you want impossible things, Ash.”

This quote sits with me in a weird way….
I think it’s because it reminds me of the idea of making someone feel “too much” for just being themselves…

Why do the Minotaurs need these trained “technicians” to wack them off??? They have hands. I don’t get why they can’t just do that themselves and still get paid, like at sperm banks in the real world? 🤔✋🥴

In my head I picture the “mistwraiths” to look like “the appetizer” meat monster from SpongeBob… Please, look it up if you don’t know what I’m referencing 😅🥴

So much of Vin’s storyline reminds me of Cady Heron from “Mean Girls”

It is kinda heinous that these hired, paid, leaders of the rebellion are using the poor, lower class men as their pawns to manipulate to communicate political messages between one another. Kelsier appears to be a self-righteous hypocrite at this point in the book….
I hope that changes, but am curious to see how it plays out

I find the allomancy terminology/concepts described in this book interesting (e.g. “I snapped,” “I ingested and burned the metal,” “flaring it,” etc.), but I don’t love it so far… I feel like I’m mostly sticking around to learn more about the characters’ backstories and see if there’s any potential love interests that I can ship 🤔

This obsession that the main character has for her brother is a bit much

It’s kinda wild that Ove is only 59 years old. He seems to act so much more like someone who is much older

I’m surprised to learn that the name of this character’s name is pronounced “ooh-vah,” and not “oh-v.”
Also, his personality reminds me a lot of the grumpy character named “Wallace” in “Under the Whispering Door” by TJ Klune.
